Welcome to Art with Mrs. Iskaros!
Welcome to Dorothy Nolan's Elementary Art Website. Please enjoy looking at what our students are creating this school year, 2023-2024. All students have explored many art mediums including painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, sculpture, ceramics, and much more!

In the beginning of the school year students participated in a school wide project inspired by the book "The Dot" by Peter H. Renolds. This wonderful book encourages students to try new things and never give up on their creativity. Each student created their own unique dot.

In the beginning of the school year 2022-2023 students participated in a school wide project inspired by the book "The Day You Begin" by Jacqueline Woodson. The premise is to empower students to be themselves, be unique and accept the differences of others. In the art room students were inspired by this story to create their own petal with patterns and designs that represent themselves. These petals are displayed together by grade level to create a collaborative school wide flower garden.
In the beginning of the school year 2021-2022 students participated in a school wide project inspired by the book "All are Welcome" by Alexandra Penfold and Suzanne Kaufman. Students traced their hand and added unique details, colors and patterns to express themselves as individuals.
About Mrs. IskarosI am a graduate of Saratoga Springs City School District. It is an honor for me to be teaching in my hometown. This is my eighth-year teaching art! My first year was at the Gloversville District and then since I have been at Saratoga Springs City School District.
Outside of school you will find me hiking, baking and spending quality time with family and friends. As an artist, printmaking is my specialty but most recently I have gravitated towards combining spray paint and acrylic as my painting mediums. Please feel free to reach out at any time.
